This engine found its way into many Chevy models during the 1960's and was one of the most feared motors on the street. With three two-barrel carbs, it cranked out 435 horsepower. Build a beautiful, exacting replica of one of the most feared high performance engines on the drag strip! Pre-painted parts in authentic factory colors. Cast metal engine block and engine stand. Beautifully reproduced air cleaner complete with labels. Metal headers. Oil filter molded with unbelievable realism complete with logo. Chromed rocker-arm covers. Realistically molded exhausts and fuel lines. Exquisitely detailed engine components such as oil pan, carburator, starter, thermostat, distributor and more! Authentic rubber belts connect all moving parts including fan. The vinyl spark plug wires and vacuum hoses are very realistic. Includes molded display base.

Comments about Revell 1/6 Chevy L89 Big Block Engine Model Kit - 851441:

AT LAST....!!!! A model kit you can build to a professional result straight out of the box !!! Traditionally pre-painted/finished model kits are somewhat dissapointing in their finish, as they tend to look artificial and 'plastic-y'. These kits are brilliant !! My son gave one to me quite recently and initial thoughts were "well, here we go again, trim of all parts onto another sprue ready to paint, prepare the compressor for spray painting etc....." but low and behold, straight out of the box, the parts are magnificently painted and polished ready to put together. Most parts are screwed together (you will require a small phillips head screw driver)and the main block is diecast metal and in numerous parts. Makes a wonderful showpiece indeed, having 35 years of model making experience, this was a very enjoyable 8 hours of model making let alone infinite time of enjoying displaying it !!
