Launching a rocket with CLUSTERING IS COOL, especially with this beauty! If you ever wanted to try clustered model rocket flight, the Estes 36 D Squared is the rocket you've been dreaming about. Unlike staging, where two rocket engines are stacked one over the other and fired in sequence, clustering is grouping two or more engines together or clustered together and ignited at the same time. At ignition, there is a tremendous amount of noise as the rocket shoots through the smoke column generated by both engines firing. While staging is impressive for all out altitude flying, cluster rockets are a launch event that all rocketeers stand around to watch! This monster is extreme in terms of styling and performance. Featuring three different sizes of body tubes, molded plastic transition sections and laser cut balsa fins, this rocket is sure to be very popular whenever you take it to the launch pad. If looks weren't enough, when powered by two Estes D engines there is enough thrust to blast this extreme rocket to over 800 feet! Recovery of this super performance rocket is handled with a preassembled parachute that returns it for another smoking hot launch! Requires 3/16 inch Maxi launch rod (#302244) - sold separately. The Estes E Controller (#2230) is recommended in order to launch a two-engine cluster sold separately.
