Comments about Estes Alpha III E2X Model Rocket Kit Bulk Pack (12 ea) - 1751:
This was a perfect beginners rocket for kids and adult to put together. Assembly time took about 15 minutes (with crazy glue) and the directions were very clear, but I would suggest an adult pre-read them (not an easy task for most guys) before you let the child put it together with you helping.
Rocket flies real high with a C6-5, and descent time is slow, so if you launch on a slightly windy day they may drift. We launched over 50 rockets and only lost half of them until we switched to streamers instead of parachutes (or cut a hole in the top of the parachute).
The kids loved these rockets, and they were priced right in bulk packs. Perfect for Cubscout outtings, they are a guarenteed hit with kids as well as adults. We will definitely order more in the spring.
Only downfall is that I would recommend the SST (Simple Snap Together) rocket for ages below 9 - as the kids tend to be impatient waiting for the glue to dry.

Comments about Estes Alpha III E2X Model Rocket Kit Bulk Pack (12 ea) - 1751:
these are great rockets for the beginner. we use the bulk packs every year for our annual cub scout rocket launch. we have about 50-70 elementary school kids build this and launch this rocket in a single session (we use 5 launchers - the kids build the rockets, one per scout, with their parents and leaders and then we provide engines and launch as a group... 2 launches per scout). We use the B6-4 engines, which are very strong for these rockets, so the kids like that they go really high, and we don't feel these are too strong for the kit (not sure what the limit is based on the spec). The rockets assemble very quickly and easily (we assemble and then launch them immediately after) and we have never had a problem with the quality for the day (they won't last forever), and are inexpensive enough that if one gets lost to the trees, its not the end of the world (they are a tad expensive for what they are, but it's hard to find them cheaper). Each scout writes his name on the rocket fins with a sharpie we provide so they can tell the rockets apart. Also, the straw-like tube on the rocket which is used to guide the rocket on the launcher sometimes doesn't dry completely before launch or the scout doesn't apply sufficient glue, so we inspect each rocket prior to providing an engine (same station where they get the talcum powder for the parachute) and will reinforce the attachment of the straw to the rocket body with either electrical tape (black to match the rocket body) or the long decal provided with the kit - both are sufficient. But overall, we like these rockets very much (and will look for a more advanced kit for our older scouts (4th and 5th graders). Good luck!!

we use these every year for our cub scout rocket launch and they are great. pretty sure we use the B6-4 engines which make these rockets really fly - would not go any bigger than that and could go smaller if it's windy. good price and the kids love 'em.
service delivery was excellent..when I put in the date we needed, ehobbies called when they wanted to discuss to make sure we had selected the right shipping level. delivery was fast and I would order again.

I needed to get some rocket kits for our Cub Scout pack and this is what they recommended to me. They were easy to assemble with clear instructions. Our kids loved them!
